Author Charlaine Harris has decided to end her bestselling Southern Vampire book series at number thirteen. Ms. Harris has written the quirky paranormal series for twelve years and says, “I don’t want to write Sookie after I get stale.”

Sookie won’t be completely gone, the last two books have yet to release and True Blood, the HBO series based on the Sookie Stackhouse books is gearing up for a new season.

As for the future, Ms. Harris is teaming with Christopher Golden to write a graphic novel, The Cemetery Girl, and the comic book adaptation of her book Grave Sight, was just released.

Readers understand, but Sookie will be missed.
