From Elsa Watson comes DOG DAYS (A Tor MM Original; $7.99; On-sale May 22, 2012)—a heartwarming and hilarious journey inside the mind of (wo)man’s best friend. Charming and original, DOG DAYS is the perfect summer reading choice for the animal lovers in your audience.

Jessica Sheldon doesn’t hate dogs, but she is a bit afraid of them, which makes living in Madrona, her dog crazy Northwestern town, difficult. To overcome her unfair reputation as the town’s “#1 dog hater” and bring customers back to The Glimmerglass, her struggling café, she volunteers to act as the chairperson of Woofinstock—Madrona’s annual dog festival.
One evening, Jessica crosses paths with Zoe, a lost and lonely white German Shepherd. Determined to prove her dog-loving credentials, Jessica decides to rescue her—and in the process the two are struck by lightning.

Jessica wakes to discover paws where her feet should be, and watches in horror as her body staggers around the square…Jessica and Zoe have switched bodies. Learning to live as a dog is difficult enough, but Jessica’s real worry is saving her café from financial ruin. To complicate matters, she’s fallen hard for Max, the town veterinarian.

From the second they switched bodies, it was clear Zoe had no problem learning to live on “human terms.” She thoroughly relishes all the food and fun Woofinstock has to offer. But she’s also anxious to find her missing family—who may not want her back.

Jessica and Zoe will need to learn from each other to set things right and possibly find love and acceptance in the bargain.
